Not to be a noobcake but what's the point of this?

I took an introductory class to web development and could see this being useful for learning about a websites structure / the way its coded. But why post it here? How is this used in fraud?

I noticed that, at least on my system, that the image on the homepage and the images in the photos section load slowly. Have you noticed this?
