Hackers are spreading new malware, which masquerades as the official app Pornhub, locks the device and demands for the restoration of access bitcoins. It is reported by The Next Web, citing a study by ESET.

The application is being distributed to Android smartphones. Pornhub has developed an official app, but at the moment it is not available in Google Play because of the ban on distribution of pornographic content. Experts note that because of this, users either download the app from untrusted sources or download a fake service.

After installation the malware refuses to play videos without "check for viruses". In reality, under the guise of scanning the installation of the ransomware that locks your device and demands a $ 100 in bitcoins.

The study also provides some expert advice: users should only download content from Google Play, and in the case of infection is to reboot the device and log in in safe mode. After that the malware can be removed.

In December, cyber security experts found out that the hacker group Fancy Bear used malware on Android devices for the surveillance of the Ukrainian artillery.
